Tabor – Baptist Chapel

The village’s Baptist movement was linked to Tyddyn Sion and started in earnest here around 1812 by 12 members under the leadership of Simon James, from Pembrokeshire. According to a report in 1883, a large crowd convened, from near and far to place the foundation stone of the new chapel. Bob Owen, Croesor describes Robert Jones, from the Baptist Chapel House, Llithfaen, as an old, godly and passionate preacher, that preached to a full chapel every time he visited Llanfrothen.
