Tanyffordd

Tanyffordd was a row of small cottages from which various small busineses were run. In 1851, William Williams, a cobbler, lived in Tanyffordd Ganol, Catherine Thomas was a shopkeeper and Owen Thomas, a shoemaker, also lived here. In 1861, Humphrey Williams, a flour merchant lived here. In 1901, Ellen Roberts was a poultry trader here and John Hughes was a cobbler. In 1911, Owen Roberts had a butcher shop here - Siop Owen Bwtsiar. His daughter Polly and nephew Owen helped with the business.
