In 1891, James Davies, the minister, lived here and later, John Williams, a carriage driver that used to take people to Pwllheli with a horse and cart. Wheldon’s butcher shop was at Faenol. He had a slaughterhouse at Llithfaen Uchaf and Dic, from Abergafran, (Dic ‘Rabar) used to lend a hand with the slaughtering. Next door, Dafydd Williams came to Faenol every Thursday to register births and marriages.


Wheldon Williams’ butcher shop was located at No. 1, Faenol (the nearest to Nefyn). Aled Williams,Gorslwyd and Dafydd Roberts, Tan yr Hafod remewmbers that Wheldon got his animals from Llithfaen Uchaf, which had a slaughterhouse, and that Richard Jones, Abergarfan, used to help Wheldon with the slaughtering. According to Beti ??, Lena Pritchard’s sister, remembers that Dafydd Williams used to come to the house next door to Faenol, from Pwllheli every Thursday to register births and marriages. The butcher’s shop was there in the 1940s. Dewi Williams, Brynmor remembers John, y Faenol, living in No. 2, and operating a passenger service, by horse and cart from Llithfaen to Pwllheli.
